Parivartan School for differently abled Delhi

Parivartan School for differently abled (Vasant Kunj, Delhi)organized a workshop on “Understanding meltdowns and Behaviour Management Approaches” for parents and professional working with special children.The event was supported by media partner press conference portal.

The chief guest of the event was Dr Smita Jayavant Member Secretary RCI as well as Director Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons With Physical Disabilites and Guest of honour was Dr Anup Aggarwal HOD(OT)Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons With Physical Disabilites .There were lot of participants who participated in the event along with their parents and caregivers. Sonali Saxena(a special parent),Deputy Director Parivartan School coordinated the entire event.

Students of Parivartan were felicitated for academic excellence and vocational excellence in office management,skilled trades,class management and an underprivileged child with physical disability was given a cash prize in memory of Late Shrimati Sonali Basu who was mother of Mrs Manjir Gupta and passionately worked towards the cause of Special children of the NGO. The Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF), in association with the Paddy & Joan Leigh Fermor Arts Fund, announces the launch of Dharamshala PJLF Editing Workshop 2018. The editing workshop aims to encourage career editors in the independent sector of Indian cinema and will give two teams of Director & Editor the chance to screen their film, receive feedback from a team of experienced film professionals and have two follow-up sessions working with the Editing Mentor on revising their cut and/or concentrating on particular sequences in their film.

Internationally renowned editor Jacques Comets will conduct the workshop as the Editing Mentor. Jacques Comets has edited the films of several leading French and international directors. He co-headed the editing department of the French National Film School, La Femis, and has been part of many seminars, workshops, masterclasses and juries in film festivals, film schools and universities around the world. Govt. of Karnataka Gears Up the Mobility Ecosystem with ‘MOVE’ Summit Southern Regional Workshop

Govt. of Karnataka is organizing a one day regional workshop for the southern region on August 7, 2018 at Taj Vivanta, MG Road, Bengaluru. The workshop aims to discuss states plan and would seek suggestions for establishing an enabling ecosystem for transforming mobility in the country. The outcome of the workshop will play a major role in giving direction to state level mobility strategy.

The one day workshop, supported by WEC India as knowledge partner, is organized to gear up for the momentum on NITI Aayog’s India’s First Global Mobility Summit, ‘MOVE’ a global Mobility Summit to be scheduled on 7-8 September, 2018. NITI Aayog has constituted a core group  of experts to provide intellectual inputs to the Summit and also constituted a State Level Task force on Mobility to develop state specific mobility strategies. As part of the core group expert, Mr. Seethapathy Chander will be representing WEC India. He is also the nodal person of state level task force for Southern states (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Karnataka, Pondicherry and Lakshadweep). Read more

What:Tapestry weaving has a rich history and significance since the Hellenistic times. It is a woven form of a painting. Tapestry, as interpreted by us, is a form of art in the medium of textiles having strong elements of texture, feel and beauty. Weaving has the ability to make connections between apparent opposites, which are in reality, extensions of each other. It is a great deal of Endeavour to work with this non-verbal language of woven structure and colour. As artists, we are keen to introduce this distinct; yet not very renowned art form to people.

Tapestry is a unique work of art that is made in a particular woven textile technique. It develops hand-eye co-ordination and increases concentration, with complete absorption in the activity. The activity of tapestry weaving acts as a form of therapy and gives a visually beautiful result at the end. Read more

The #I’mPowerMovement kicked off its first open event in the city with a session for Mumbai women at Studio Plus at Seva Sadan Society, Grant Road.

Freyan Bhathena opened the session and introduced the #I’mPowerMovement to the audience. This was followed by a session with Kiran Makhijani from Dr. Matcheswalla’s Happy Minds Clinic. Kiran spoke to the ladies who ranged from ages 14 to upward of 50 about their right to not feel harmed mentally when they were leered at or in the worst-case scenario touched or attacked. She stressed on the importance of self-love in each of the girls. You must learn to love yourself so that you then want to protect yourself as a top priority,” said the young Clinical Psychologist from Dr. Matcheswalla’s team. Read more
