Over the years the Techfest, IIT Bombay has branched out its reach into international territories and International Competitions, with their huge scale, attract numerous foreign participants thus sky-rocketing the level of competitions. The result is a win-win situation for everyone, the participants who get to interact with some of the best teams around the globe and such participation calls for technological, innovative and economical revamps to their models which only adds to the audience’s experience.

International Robotics Challenge (IRC) –Tech enthusiasts from war-torn countries like Syria selected for final round at Techfest. IRC is a contest which asks for utmost expertise in many technological aspects like wireless computer interface, image processing, line following mechanism etc.The principle aim of the competition is development of two bots: one autonomous and manual. But the real challenge lies in the task of installing appropriate provision for the bots to coordinate and communicate to finish the task.With prize money of INR 3,00,000 it has attracted teams from countries like Syria, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal and Egypt. With upcoming presidential elections in the US, Obama leads Katrina Kaif to become the most searched celebrity in Indian mobile videos in April 2012

Hitherto ruled mostly by Bollywood and cricket, mobile video searches and views saw a radical shift in preferences with news content gaining traction among Indian mobile viewers, according to the findings of recent Global Video Insights Report for April 2012, released by Vuclip, the world’s largest independent mobile video service. With waves of the U.S. presidential elections being felt here too, President Barack Obama emerged as the most searched celebrity on Indian mobiles, ahead of star cricketer, Yuvraj Singh and tinsel town queen, Katrina Kaif. The keyword ‘Obama’ was third most-searched term after ‘Bollywood Photoshoot’ and ‘Bollywood Trailers’.
