Jaago Uma- Title Track of Uma- Out Now

VF’s upcoming film, directed by Srijit Mukherji, Uma’s most awaited song ‘Jaago Uma’ has arrived after much anticipation.

Jaago Uma is a mesmerising number we will hear from the dulcet tones of Rupankar Bagchi, the National Award winning singer. This song is an amalgamation of the previous 3 songs released by SVF, which portray the lives of the main characters which includes Himadri and his estranged wife, Menoka (Jisshu U Sengupta and Sayantika Banerjee respectively), their 8 year old daughter, Uma (Sara Sengupta), a once famous Film Director trying to find his way back and his ex-wife (Anjan Dutt and Gargi RoyChowdhury). It also shows rest of the characters –Rudranil Ghosh, Srabanti, Abhijit Guha, Partha Sen and Ambarish Bhattacharya doing their bit to “awaken Uma” (literal translation of the song name), which denotes evoking the Goddess Durga before her time of visit (usually in September/October). The first look teaser video of SVF’s upcoming venture Uma was released a day before Bengali New Year bringing in the news of “Uma’s” advent on earth . The teaser came out on 14th April ,a day before the people of Bengal go on to celebrate ‘Poila Boishakh’ a festival that brings hope and happiness in their lives, similar to what the film Uma would be conveying to it’s audience. Uma is an ingenious feature film inspired from the true story of Evan Leversage, the Canadian boy who is known as “The boy who moved Christmas”. In 2015, Evan’s hometown of St. George staged a massive Christmas celebration two months before Christmas Eve as he was suffering from cancer and would not have lived to witness the actual celebrations.
