These strategic appointments are in line with the company’s continued focus on strengthening its management team.

 

ReNew announced the appointments of Mayank Bansal as President – Strategy & Operations, Varun Sivaram as Chief Technology Officer, both to be based out of its Gurugram office, as well as Stephen O’Rourke, who has joined as Managing Director, ReNew North America and will be based at the company’s recently set up international office in San Francisco, California. ReNew Power successfully commissions 126 MW of the first reverse wind auction in India

ReNew Power Limited, India’s largest renewable energy IPP in terms of total energy generation capacity*, today announced the successful commissioning of Phase 1 (126 MW) of its 250 MW wind project located in Kutch district of Gujarat. This project is part of the India’s first wind power reverse auction concluded by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) in February 2017 under the 1000 MWInter-State Transmission System (ISTS). The power generated from this project will be supplied to the Northern and Eastern states of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand & Odisha using the ISTS network.

 

The 250MW wind power project was won at a tariff of 3.46 INR/unit by Ostro Kutch Wind Pvt. Ltd in April 2017, which,through an acquisition of OstroEnergy Private Limited and its portfolio of wind and solar energyprojects became part of ReNew Power in March 2018.

WHO lauds Global Partnership to Stop Leprosy; will help renew efforts for zero leprosy

Welcoming the launch of the ‘Global Partnership to Stop Leprosy’, the World Health Organization today said a stronger force with a common vision was much needed to accelerate efforts to end leprosy.

“A collaborative approach by leading partners to address remaining challenges with innovative solutions, is expected to provide renewed energy and impetus to accelerate efforts against leprosy. This is a turning point, we must harness this energy to free the world of leprosy forever,” said Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director for WHO South-East Asia, who also steers WHO’s Global Leprosy Programme.
