Walmart Successfully Completes 3rd Edition of Women Entrepreneurship Development Program

Walmart India, the wholly owned subsidiary of Walmart Inc., today announced closure of the Third Edition of the Women Entrepreneurship Development Program (WEDP) with 75 high potential, women-owned businesses (WOBs) graduating from the program. Training was delivered to 40 WOBs in classrooms and 35 WOBs attended the virtual sessions. The cohort represented both product categories, such as edible cutlery, eco-friendly stationary and gift items, apparel, herbal cosmetics, spices, processed food, tea, nutrition bars, as well as services sectors such as AI consultancy, energy efficient solutions, travel management solutions and research and insights, among others.

NEC Technologies India ties-up with Amity University to offer training program in Japanese language, culture and business practices

Amity University, Haryana (AUH) and NEC Technologies India (NECTI) announced today the launch of a joint training program in Japanese language, culture and Japanese business practices for Amity University students. NEC Japanese Language Academy (NJLA), the language and intercultural training academy of NECTI, will facilitate the training program. Over 200 students are expected to be trained under this program. An MoU was signed by Mr. Piyush Sinha, Deputy Managing Director, NECTI and Prof (Dr) Padmakali Banerjee, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean Academics, Director Amity Business School, in the presence of key officials and dignitaries such as Prof Ashok Tiku, Head, Amity School of Languages, Mrs. Reena Nigam, Head, Amity Skills Institute, Mrs. Archana Tiwary, Assistant Professor, Amity School of languages.

A group often female entrepreneurs from India have arrived in Ottawa, Canada’s capital city,to participate in the Canada India Acceleration Program (CIAP) for the next two weeks. The CIAPis part of the International Start-up Exchange Program between All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE),the apex body that regulates and facilitates technical education for over 10,000 institutes in India,and Carleton University,a leading comprehensive university in Canada with over 30,000 students and faculty members.

The CIAPwill support 100 women-led tech start-ups from both countries over a period of five years. It involves a two-week intensive boot camp & acceleration program comprising of start-up ecosystem exposure, industry visits, and meetings with Canadian ecosystem enablers like investors, government officials, and business mentors. The first cohort of entrepreneurs are from wide range of fields including Agri-tech, life science, medical technologies, and energy. The opportunities provided by the CIAP will enable them to explore emerging market opportunities in Canada while accessing business acceleration facilities at Carleton University. Read more

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited, the market leader in Oral Care in India, launched its annual, Colgate Scholarship Program. As a part of the program, more than 500 children can avail scholarships up to Rupees One Lakh, and every consumer who buys the offer-pack gets a free one-month subscription of BYJU’s learning app.

Since its launch in 2009, the Colgate Scholarship Program has been contributing to the lives of children in a meaningful way. So far, these scholarships have enabled more than 1000 Indian families, across 100 cities, to give their children a brighter future – be it in dance, sports, music, or academics.

In the last three years, 14.8 million children have participated in the scholarship program. In the 2017 edition, about 0.9 million consumers benefitted from the BYJU’s study material provided through the Scholarship packs. KONE India & Chitkara University Ink Industry-Academia Partnership for the Graduate Program & Talent Management

KONE India, a leading Elevator & Escalator company in the country and Chitkara University have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer a 3-year full-time diploma program in Mechanical Engineering with specialisation in Vertical Transportation. With this MoU, KONE and Chitkara will undertake Curriculum Development & Talent Management in Mechanical Engineering, which is requisite to the Vertical Transportation Industry.

 

The MoU has been signed by Mr. Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE India and Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University in the presence of officials from the University & KONE India. The program is a 3-year full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Vertical Transportation for Students after class 10th. The Program will commence from August 2018 and the first batch of students will graduate in July 2021, and will be available for suitable placements.
