Mahagram is deploying its Micro ATM on its retail network of eGram Kendra. The Micro ATM will enable the consumer from any part of the country to go and withdraw cash from their accounts from nearby eGram Kendra or Mahagram Outlets. These Micro ATM are built on an Android POS and will also have value- added services, not only limited to Aadhaar, PAN Card, Utility bills and so on, placing the bar higher for the next generation of mobile payments. WhatsApp condemns the spread of Fake news on the platform, takes series of initiatives to curb this

WhatsApp, the Facebook owned messaging application in India responded to the Indian government, in directive to take measures to check the spread of irresponsible and explosive messages on its platform which have led to unfortunate acts of violence and lynching in the country. In a letter dated July 3, 2018 to Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), it highlighted several measures that it will be implementing to prevent the misuse of platform in the country by introducing relevant features on the application.

“WhatsApp cares deeply about people’s safety and their ability to freely communicate. We don’t want our services used to spread harmful misinformation and believe this is a challenge that companies and societies should address. For example, we recently made a number of updates to our group chats and will be stepping up efforts to help people spot false news and hoaxes,” said a WhatsApp Spokesperson in a statement. NEC’s Data Platform for Hadoop helps DMICDC Logistics Data Services drive digital transformation

NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced that India-basedDMICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd. (DLDS) adopted NEC’s Big Data Platform to support their Logistics Data Bank (LDB) project in pursuit of digital transformation.

 

DLDS provides Export and Import (EXIM) container visibility through the LDB project, which manages thedata analytics for container traffic.

 

Through adoption of NEC’s big data platform, “Data Platform for Hadoop,” (DPH) and “Data Integration and Analytics Services” (*1), the LDB project, which manages enormous data sizes related to nearly 70% of the India’s EXIM container volume, has been significantly enhanced with an “integrated analytics platform for collecting, storing, processing and analyzing data on a single platform” and an “automated reporting process,” while minimizing infrastructure investment.

 

NEC’s DPH helped to automate LDB’s processes by enabling the creation of monthly/annual analytical reports with a single click, instead of creating reports manually, thereby improving overall productivity. Read more
