Addressing the growing phenomenon of the need for validation on social media, Brand Idea has launched a campaign titled #MeriRealLife, encouraging people to drop the pressure of chasing and sharing perfection on social media, and instead, share real, unfiltered stories using Idea 4G.

The campaign has gone live today with the first two TVCs breaking on the live matches of Asia Cup Cricket Tournament.

There are over 400 million internet users in India and over 50% are active social media users. Rapid proliferation of 4G has enabled better internet speeds, resulting into Indians now spending almost 28 hours a week on mobile phones. This mammoth increase in consumption of 4G data has been fuelled largely by people sharing and consuming videos and photos on social media.

On an average, people spend anywhere between 2-4 hours/day on social media platforms. With such high engagement, social media is bound to have a huge impact on the lives of people. The new Brand Idea campaign is designed to propagate ‘Responsible Use of Social Media’ with the tagline ‘Perfect ka pressure hatao, Idea 4G ke saath apni real life dikhao’. Read more

With each episode focusing on one inspiring and moving story of people who go to any lengths to help animals, the series will explore the personalities and emotions of both humans and animals, while highlighting their unique connection. DODO HEROES marks Animal Planet’s first-ever global series launch which will premiere on Friday, June 15 at 9 PM in India and in over 220 countries and territories worldwide.

In India, Animal Planet is launching a campaign ‘Be Kind to All Kind’ in its endeavor to raise support for select NGOS dedicated to the welfare of stray animals. The channel has roped in celebrities Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kapoor to create awareness about this sensitive issue.

“The situation of stray animals in India is a matter of concern, and we will all have to come together to help these lovely beings. I have personally met many people who would like to support stray animals but can’t because they don’t know how to. The campaign ‘Be Kind to All Kind’ aims to reach out to people, and provide access so that they can support the cause they believe in,” said, Soha Ali Khan. “Animals are surprisingly human in the way they emote, they express. Infact, I don’t pamper my dogs (3 pets), they pamper me with unending selfless love. I enjoy each moment that I spend with them. It is amazing how much satisfaction one can gain by just being ‘natural’ with the most adorable creatures God has created.” Read more

People Queue Up at Columbia Asia Hospital Screening Camp for Treatment of Neurological Disorders

People from Patiala and nearby regions flocked to a free screening camp organized by Columbia Asia Hospital in high numbers on 8th and 9th of this month for medical consultation, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological disorders.

The camp was organized not only to treat patients but also to spread awareness and educate people about these disorders.

Doctors provided free medical consultation from morning 9 AM to 1:30 AM on over 15 neurological disorders, including stroke, brain hemorrhage, epilepsy, migraine, vertigo, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, neurotoxic diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and many others

“People have come in good numbers. Doctors have provided free consultation to 105people in the past two days. Neurological disorders are associated with social stigma and it is difficult for people to come out in open and go for medical consultation. Therefore, it felt all the more good to see people coming out of their closets and discuss their problems” said Dr. Satwant Sachdeva, Consultant Neurologist, Columbia Asia Hospital, Patiala.

Around 3 crore people in India suffer from neurological disorders, with an approximate prevalence of 2400 people per lakh population. Although there seems to be lack of data on a number of neurological disorders in Patiala, but an independent study published in 2015 for epilepsy, reported prevalence of over 7 persons per 1000 people,  while it showed a crude incidence rate of around 60 per  lakh population. In the given scenario, people need to be more aware of various neurological disorders prevalent so that they can go for the proper treatment and help those who are suffering from these diseases. We Indians love our festivals and all the goodies that come with it. That’s when we bring out the ‘foodie’ in us, and for once, let ourselves indulge unabashedly in a wide variety of food, sweets and snacks.

However, the messed-up lifecycle, very soon leaves many feeling guilty, greasy and bloated. And this is when most of them hit the gyms to lose the additional flab or get back to their work-out regimes, post-Christmas and New Year celebrations. Reflected in a pan-India study conducted by Gympik, it shows that people hit gyms with a vengeance to get back in shape soon after the festival season. The study conducted by India’s largest fitness discovery platform, has shown a 77% spike in people diligently working out at gyms, particularly post festivities such as post-Christmas & New Year Parties.

In fact, the trend is much higher this year as opposed to the 56% spike seen in 2016.  Read more
