Brand Idea urges people for ‘Responsible Use of Social Media’ through the latest #MeriRealLife campaign

Addressing the growing phenomenon of the need for validation on social media, Brand Idea has launched a campaign titled #MeriRealLife, encouraging people to drop the pressure of chasing and sharing perfection on social media, and instead, share real, unfiltered stories using Idea 4G.

 

The campaign has gone live today with the first two TVCs breaking on the live matches of Asia Cup Cricket Tournament.

 

There are over 400 million internet users in India and over 50% are active social media users. Rapid proliferation of 4G has enabled better internet speeds, resulting into Indians now spending almost 28 hours a week on mobile phones. This mammoth increase in consumption of 4G data has been fuelled largely by people sharing and consuming videos and photos on social media.

 

On an average, people spend anywhere between 2-4 hours/day on social media platforms. With such high engagement, social media is bound to have a huge impact on the lives of people. Brand Factory, originally positioned as a ‘365 days on discount’ retail store, had its communication centered around various offers and brand promotions. Today it has evolved to ‘Best Brands. This is me at 17 I had just started working with Balaji #Home as an intern . I was not able to go to college and my parents and family had decided I was a failure. The only thing I could get a job was in a call centre . Maybe they were right . A boy with no financial or most importantly emotional support who hasn’t even completed a year of college education . I was not even able to secure an interview at a channel for an entry level position cause I wasn’t educated enough . I really was lost but than I came to my Hogwarts #Againstallodds and met Her . Post which a college degree dint matter , I actually headed the same channel in years to come , Niv and Her helped me find myself. I actually don’t know what I wanted to do in my life , may be now also I keep looking but I am blessed that I do what I enjoy doing and keep evolving . Ranjit Thakur, the man who pioneered the 2K Digital Cinema Deployment concept in India is back again, though this time with a more meaningful, DCI Compliant Digital Cinema Deployment Plan that will change the course of how movies are released in India. The country has about 12,500 operational screens as on date out of which as many as 8,000 odds are using Non- DCI platform on which Hollywood does not play its films. The current framework of the entire system of digital cinema in India does not exactly benefit the exhibitors or the producers at large.

 

Krian Media through its new plan aims to eradicate the compete use of the Non-DCI platform in India getting it upto global DCI standards followed around the world thereby hugely increasing the footprint for the release of Hollywood films in India. Read more

In the first six months of 2018, the four South markets saw over 15,000 new advertisers in print, 1200 on television and over a 1000 on radio, revealed LV Krishnan, CEO, TAM Media Research, in his address to delegates at the inaugural thought leadership forum on marketing, media and advertising curated by TVNews4u.com on 10th August.

“There is an opportunity for growth in hyper-local and local advertising media. There is also opportunity in local brands giving national brands a run for their money. National brands are likely to spend higher budgets in South markets just to face off competition,” he added. Read more

The Board of Directors of HVL on August 13, 2018 have noted that Board of Directors  of IndusInd Media & Communications Limited (“IMCL”), a subsidiary of HVL has:

 

a)      Appointed Mr. Vynsley Fernandes as Chief Executive Officer of IMCL w.e.f August 01, 2018;

b)     Appointed Mr. Amar Chintopanth, Chief Financial Officer of IMCL, as Executive Director on the Board of Directors of IMCL w.e.f. August 01, 2018;

c)      Accepted the resignation of Mr. Ashok Mansukhani as Managing Director of IMCL w.e.f August 01, 2018; and

Mr. Vynsley Fernandes is a veteran media executive with over 25 years of experience in delivering and managing assignments globally including DTH & HITS platforms, digital cable networks, and news & entertainment channels.

 

Mr. Fernandes was the Executive Director at Castle Media Private Limited, a leading technology, Media & Entertainment consulting-to-delivery firm which he co-founded in 2010. At Castle Media, Mr. Fernandes led the consulting practice, focusing on pay television platforms across the SAARC, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to Castle Media, Mr. Fernandes had managed high profile assignments globally – for leading blue-chip media organizations including 21st Century Fox (then News Corporation) and TATA SKY. As Principal Consultant at TATA SKY, Mr. Fernandes was part of the core team responsible for rolling out the premier DTH service across India whilst at STAR News (now ABP News Network) – he was one of the persons responsible for setting up and managing the operations of the network. He also spent a decade at STAR India managing key technology and operations portfolios. Prior to STAR, Mr. Fernandes worked in various content and production roles at leading television stations and production houses.
