Radio City organized a pride walk in lieu of historical verdict announced last week by the Supreme Court of India on Section 377, decriminalizing sex between consenting adults of the same gender. Radio City’s ‘City Ki Pride – #FreeHugs’ took place on Monday, 10th September, wherein RJ Archana set out on a pride walk in Bandra East area of Mumbai, with members of the LGBTQA community. The members joining in for the walk included famous fashion designer Rohit Verma, Social worker for transgender rights, Vicky Shinde, Mr. Gay India (Runner-Up) 2017, Darshan Mandhana and others from LGBTQA groups like ‘Rainbow Tigers’ and ‘Humsafar’. The idea behind the activation was to celebrate the verdict by spreading the message of #LoveisLove and members of the community giving out free hugs to all. The contingent held placards saying “Love is Love”, “Love knows no gender” and Pride flags while offering Free Hugs to passersby. Read more

In a diverse and multilingual country like India, learning a new language always is adrenaline pumping. However speakers of any language range from sophisticated and civilized to uncivilized and foul. Indians, in general, are habituated to using swear words in their communication. Every region, language or social group has its own set of foul words which are widely prevalent among its speakers. Some of the foul words are however common to all. These are readily used by certain individuals, not always as a way of insulting but also sometimes as a catharsis too. One such swear word used commonly and liberally by Indians is ‘BEHENC@*&’

 

Proton Communications – a communications agency came up with this unique idea of celebrating Raksha-Bandhan  with this social message which received the support of various celebrities. Raksha-Bandhan  is usually celebrated as the day of bonding between brothers and sisters. The festival has become an occasion of national solidarity and state tradition. This Raksha-Bandhan , Proton Communications through the help of various celebrities decided to carry on various activities urging people to give up this word. After amusing everybody with her mommy-full avatar in Mumma Ki Parchai, here’s presenting Kajol singing her heart out in the next song ‘Yaadon Ki Almari’ from her upcoming film Helicopter Eela.  Known for creating magic and mesmerizing melodies, the song is composed by Amit Trivedi himself and is Palomi Ghosh’s debut at playback in Hindi cinema. The song beautifully captures Kajol talking about unfulfilled dreams and the importance of living them in time.

Palomi is already quite a fame when it comes to regional cinemas as both, an actor and a singer. Expressing her excitement about making her dreamy Bollywood debut, Palomi quoted, “I was simply enjoying record the audio-board and next thing I knew, I was singing for Kajol ma’am. Pradeep Dada said I was Eela’s voice. I was asked to bear the character’s sketch and journey in my mind and translate those emotions through my music.
