Idhu Namma Aatam… Tamil Thalaivas embodies Tamil Nadu’s love for Kabaddi

Tamil Thalaivas team members, D Gopu and K Jayseelan, Tamil Nadu Amateur Kabaddi Federation Secretary, Mr. Safiulla unveil the trophy for the Children's Kabaddi Challenge alongside Chief Motivation Officer actress Andrea Jeremiah, CEO Tamil Thalaivas, Viren D'Silva and Chief Motivation Officer Actor Vishnu Vishal who unveiled the trophy for the Corporate Kabaddi Fest.

IdhuNammaAatam(This Is Our Sport) is Tamil Thalaivas’ new expression for Kabaddi. The Tamil Nadu franchise of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League is all set to build and spread local love for the sport across the state through its year-round initiatives. The newest entrant in the league has already built a strong affinity in the state and will host a slew of on-ground properties in its second year of operations with a goal to further the southern state’s rich Kabaddi legacy.

Elaborating on the team’s mission, Viren D’ Silva, CEO, Tamil Thalaivas stated, “Tamil Nadu is proud of its Kabaddi heritage and, at Tamil Thalaivas, we aim to connect every Tamilian with their favorite sport of Kabaddi all through the year. We have lined up a number of exciting initiatives, which we will build year on year. We want to give back to the fans and communities who have given us so much love. Tamil Thalaivas takes Kabaddi beyo­nd the Season

Tamil Thalaivas, one of the newest entrants in the popular Pro Kabaddi League, is all set to spread the sport of Kabaddi across Tamil Nadu. Kicking off their year-round Kabaddi calendar in July, the Tamil Nadu based franchise will host a slew of on-ground activations that help further the southern state’s rich Kabaddi legacy. Interestingly, the name of the sport itself is derived from the Tamil word – ‘Kai-pidi’, which translates to holding hands.

Elaborating on the team’s mission, Viren D’ Silva, CEO, Tamil Thalaivas shared, “Tamil Nadu loves its sports and as custodians of Kabaddi in the state, we want to bring Kabaddi to every Tamilian. We want each of them to feel a sense of ownership towards their sport and their team. Alcis Sports today announced their association with the ongoing Kabaddi Masters Dubai 2018,which is currently being held at the Al Wasl Sports Club in Dubai from June 22nd to June 30th. Alcis Sports is providing kits to all the six participating nations – India, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Iran, Argentina and Kenya, who are fighting it out to lay their hands on the trophy for the inaugural edition.

The tournament is being organised by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) and Star India Pvt. Ltd and supported by the Dubai Sports Council. The matches are being aired live at 8 pm IST on five channels of the Star Sports Network.

Alcis Sports in the past has also been associated with other sporting events, including being the licensed apparel merchandise partner in India for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

With all this already going on, a feature film solely based on Kabaddi is nothing but a cherry on top.
