THE FIRST EVER MALTA INDIA FILM FESTIVAL LAUNCHES IN MALTA DECEMBER 14-16, 2018

The Malta India Film Academy will launch the first edition of the Malta India Film Festival to be held in Malta from December 14-16, 2018. The festival, a first of its kind, will be open to film-makers from across the world who have either Maltese or Indian element in their film. Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Malta, the endeavor is to build a creative bridge encouraging art, culture and entertainment between the two countries.

The Festival will invite entries across different genres of cinema and will be in categories of Feature Film, Short Film & Documentaries. The shortlisted set of films, as graded by the panel of jury, will then be screened over three days in Valletta, the capital city of Malta. Read more

Oxford University Press (OUP), the world’s largest university press, today announced the appointment of Yash Mehta as Executive Director. Yash will report to Sivaramakrishnan V (Siva), Managing Director, OUP India and will be responsible for OUP India’s School Education Sales, Marketing and Editorial functions.

Yash joins OUP from Macmillan Education India, where, as the country lead, he was responsible for driving Macmillan’s education business in India and the neighbouring markets of Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Middle-East, Nepal and Bangladesh. Prior to joining Macmillan, Yash was Vice President – Schools and Retail at Educomp Infrastructure & School Management Limited. Read more

Ducati successfully concludes the 1st edition of DRE-Off Road Days in India

Luxury motorcycle brand Ducati successfully concluded its very first edition of DRE – Off Road Days in India. The riding experience saw the presence of over 50 Ducatisti and Non-Ducati owners spread over two days on 4th and 5th of August and took place at the Off-Road Adventure Zone (ORAZ) circuit in Gurugram.

This unique ride and training combo was aimed at further enhancing the skills of riders who are currently exploring different types of terrains by riding through various parts of the country. The DRE-Off Road Days pays special emphasis on making the riders feel more confident and safer off road. This training is provided by Ducati Certified trainer and founder of Raid De Himalaya, Mr. Vijay Parmar. The sessions were concluded by recognizing the participation of each candidate with a certificate of completion from Ducati India. Read more

KONE India & Chitkara University Ink Industry-Academia Partnership for the Graduate Program & Talent Management

KONE India, a leading Elevator & Escalator company in the country and Chitkara University have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer a 3-year full-time diploma program in Mechanical Engineering with specialisation in Vertical Transportation. With this MoU, KONE and Chitkara will undertake Curriculum Development & Talent Management in Mechanical Engineering, which is requisite to the Vertical Transportation Industry.

 

The MoU has been signed by Mr. Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE India and Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University in the presence of officials from the University & KONE India. The program is a 3-year full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Vertical Transportation for Students after class 10th. The Program will commence from August 2018 and the first batch of students will graduate in July 2021, and will be available for suitable placements. During the final year of the program, students will be entitled to an internship for a period of 5 months with KONE India. Read more

As a run-up to the 8th ‘Busworld India’ Exhibition to be held on 29th to 31st August  at Bangalore, a road show was organised at New Delhi on Saturday, 4th August. Busworld, Interads Exhibitions and Bus Operators Confederation of India (BOCI) organised this road show  to showcase the potential, networking opportunity and exposure to the latest technology and services, the 8th edition of Busworld India would bring to the Bus and Coach sector in India.

The event was powered by Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), BOCI and supported by Indian Tourist Transporters Association (ITTA) and Delhi Contract Bus Association (DCBA). Office bearers and members of All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) and All India Transport Welfare Association (AITWA) were also present at the occasion. FedEx Express Announces Finalists of the Small Business Grant Contest India 2018

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, today announced the finalists of its Small Business Grant Contest in India.  The shortlisted finalists will now enter the final stage of the contest to compete for a grand prize of INR 15,00,000.

 

With more than 450 businesses entering the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest, nominations came from a diverse range of industry sectors.  The entries were evaluated by an external advisory firm with an assessment focused on three key areas: inspiration to grow their business to new markets, how they would utilize the grant, and financial performance of the business.  Entries were also given extra credit for having unique or innovative service offering, or a business that has a positive impact in the community.

 

The second edition of the contest in India saw a significant rise in participation from small businesses, with more than double the number of businesses submitting entries this year. Read more
