The All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) has unanimously elected Mr. Anantha Padmanaban as its Vice Chairman. Mr. Padmanaban is currently Zonal Chairman – South and he is the Managing Director of NAC Jewellers, Chennai. Welcoming his appointment, Mr. Nitin Khandelwal, Chairman, said “I am pleased that Mr. Anantha Padmanaban has been unanimously elected as the Vice Chairman of GJF and I’m very confident that his election would strengthen GJF activities across the gem and jewellery industry as he brings incredibly strong knowledge and experience which will be vital as we endeavour to work with the Government for the benefit of the industry. Bollywood celebrities Zeenat Aman, Padmini Kolhapure, Preeti Jhangiani, Shillpi Sharma and Fashion Designer Falguni were the judges at the jury round of the 7th edition of the NJA Awards 2017, held today in Mumbai. The NJA Awards 2017 will be held in Mumbai on Friday 28th July 2017. All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) are the organisers of this gala event.

The Jury round for the 7th National Jewellery Awards 2017 organized by All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), was held today in Mumbai. Famous Bollywood celebrities Zeenat Aman, Padmini Kolhapure, Preeti Jhangiani, Shillpi Sharma and fashion designer Falguni (Falguni Shane Peacock) were the judges at the jury round.

The Chairman Mr. Nitin Khandelwal, Vice Chairman Mr. Pramod Agrawal and the new Committee of Administration officially took charge of the administration of All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) at a glittering ceremony coinciding with the 8th edition of Jewel Trendz Gems & Jewellery show at Hotel Sahara Star. Mr. G. V. Sreedhar, immediate Past Chairman, GJF, passed on the coveted mantle to Mr. Khandelwal and the new Committee of Administration at a glittering ceremony in the presence of Mr. Ajay Sancheti, Hon. Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and several luminaries of the gem & jewellery sector.

All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation Chairman Sreedhar GV handed over a memorandum/ petition to Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley in the presence of GJF EDs Shri Ashok Minawala and Shri Nitin Khandelwal whereafter Finance Minister promised to look into their grievances wrt excise duty imposition post Budget 2016-17. Meanwhile jewellers across the country went on dharna and did a shutter down and apex Associations decided to extend the strike till 7th March 2016.
