After bagging many awards in its name, Gali Guleiyan will now be traveling to Indian Film Festival of Melbourne along with the other critically acclaimed films.

Appreciated by critics all over, Gali Guleiyan (In the Shadows) is a psychological drama about an isolated paranoid man, who is slowly losing his grip on reality. The film will be releasing in India as Gali Guleiyan.
Having been to many renowned International Film Festivals now, the film has garnered appreciation from one and all. In 2017, Gali Guleiyan premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival & Mumbai’s MAMI, and also went on to win the Grand Jury award.
It was also screened at the prestigious 42nd Cleveland International Film Festival, the Indian Film Festival of Los Angles and the Atlanta Film Festival amongst others.
Manoj Bajpayee who has been nominated as the best actor for Gali Guleiyan said, “In the Shadows (Gali Guleiyan) in the nominations at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and it gives me great pleasure to say that. The Malta India Film Academy will launch the first edition of the Malta India Film Festival to be held in Malta from December 14-16, 2018. The festival, a first of its kind, will be open to film-makers from across the world who have either Maltese or Indian element in their film. Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Malta, the endeavor is to build a creative bridge encouraging art, culture and entertainment between the two countries.

The Festival will invite entries across different genres of cinema and will be in categories of Feature Film, Short Film & Documentaries. The shortlisted set of films, as graded by the panel of jury, will then be screened over three days in Valletta, the capital city of Malta. Read more

While they flaunt the tiara of fame and popularity, Mumbai’s film brigade showed up in number at the special screening of the film “Aami Joy Chatterjee”. The screening saw the presence of Shivanggi Choudharry , Bijon Das Gupta, Saibal Banerjee, Zeenia Roy and  Raja Narayan Deb

The film has bagged the special mention Award of Excellence in 2017 Indie Fest at San Diego. The film is in Bengali with English subtitles.

Leading Indian daily Times of India hailed it as an intelligently crafted film that makes the audience sit back and think. Veteran Indian actor Sabyasachi Chakrabarty has complimented the production house for having come up with “such an out of the box concept”. Abir Chatterjee, who essays the role of Joy in the film says, “the story is undoubtedly complex but narrated effortlessly and simply that common audience will enjoy.” Read more

he trailer of Pradeep Sarkar’s much-awaited film Helicopter Eela is finally out and it looks promising with Kajol in her mommy avatar. Kajol celebrated her birthday at the trailer launch event held in Mumbai yesterday and the pictures will leave you in an awe of her!

To our surprise, the cake that Eela had cut was of a tiffin-shaped which looked as quirky as her character in the film. It is always a bliss to watch Kajol at her best and since it was her birthday, the reason to celebrate the trailer launch just got doubled. Read more

The 5th edition of the Indian Screenwriters Conference (ISC) was inaugurated today by Chief Guest Aamir Khan. The eagerly awaited biennial which is organised by the Screenwriters Association (SWA) is being held from August 1-3 at St. Andrews Auditorium, Bandra.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Where Mind Is Without Fear’ that focuses on the challenges facing Indian screenwriters today.

Present at the opening ceremony were Mr. Sanjay Chouhan – SWA Executive Committee member and Convenor of the 5th ISC. Also present were Mr. Sunil Salgia – SWA Executive Committee member and Co-convenor of the 5th ISC, Mr. Zama Habib – General Secretary of the SWA and Preeti Mamgain – President of the SWA.

The conference started with a 2-minutes silence that was observed in memory of deceased SWA members.

Following this, Mr. Sanjay Chouhan, spoke about the journey of Screenwriters Conference and how it has grown by leaps and bounds over the years. He said, “The inaugural edition of ISC which was held in 2006 at FTII Pune was attended by 275 delegates, whereas the first day of this year’s edition is attended by over 800 aspiring screenwriters” Read more
