Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF), India’s biggest cultural street festival, is all set to deliver this year an enthralling commemoration of 20 years since its inception. KGAF 2019 will celebrate 2 glorious decades of art and culture, across various forms and communities including design, cinema, theatre, dance, literature and much more, from 2nd to 10th February 2019 at the iconic art district of Kala Ghoda. This year also marks 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, and the festival will pay its respects to his philosophy and contribution to the nation as well.

NEC Technologies India ties-up with Amity University to offer training program in Japanese language, culture and business practices

Amity University, Haryana (AUH) and NEC Technologies India (NECTI) announced today the launch of a joint training program in Japanese language, culture and Japanese business practices for Amity University students. NEC Japanese Language Academy (NJLA), the language and intercultural training academy of NECTI, will facilitate the training program. Over 200 students are expected to be trained under this program. An MoU was signed by Mr. Piyush Sinha, Deputy Managing Director, NECTI and Prof (Dr) Padmakali Banerjee, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean Academics, Director Amity Business School, in the presence of key officials and dignitaries such as Prof Ashok Tiku, Head, Amity School of Languages, Mrs. Reena Nigam, Head, Amity Skills Institute, Mrs. Archana Tiwary, Assistant Professor, Amity School of languages.

MS Dhoni The Untold Story and six other films featuring Jharkhand to display the state’s vibrant culture as a part of Special Focus at IFFI 2018

IFFI 2018 is giving the international audiences a taste of Jharkhand’s vibrant culture, as a part of Special Focus on the state by screening a total of seven films that have an unmistakable Jharkhand flavour in them. Being a recipient of the special mention award for promoting filmmaking in 2016, Jharkhand is in a rightful position to collaborate with 49th IFFI to become the first state in State Focus section. Films such as Begum Jaan, MS Dhoni The Untold Story, Ranchi Diary, A Death in the Gunj, Mor Gao Mor Desh, Ajab Singh ki Gajab Kahani, and Panchlet will be screened as a part of this segment at IFFI 2018.

In connection with this, Jharkhand Day will be celebrated on 24th November 2018 as a part of the festival.

Directorate of Film Festivals, in a statement, said, “India’s rich diversity lies in the landscapes and scenic locales and natural settings that are so different from each other as one traverses from one state to another. Of late, Jharkhand has provided the much needed ‘playground’ for films, lending them its natural beauty that has been so beautifully captured by the talented filmmakers of our country. We are featuring these films at IFFI 2018 for the audiences from across the world – for a glimpse of this beautiful Indian state.”

Spotlight Productions celebrated their ninth year at Symphony Space Theatre located at New York City. Varsha Naik’s Navrang Dance Academy, NJ shined at the Symphony State theatre. The only act that featured an Indian Dance form at the show – “Dancing in the Spotlight”. Varsha Naik, who is the choreographer, along with her talented team of 21 dancers proudly showcased Indian culture and art through their dance at the prestigious Symphony Space Theatre on Broadway.
