MAMI announces films selected for competition in the India Gold category

The films selected for competition in the India Gold category at the upcoming Mumbai Film Festival were announced by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images on sep 24.

The complete line-up of the film festival is yet to be announced. The 20th edition of eight-day long film festival is set to run from 25 October to 1 November 2018

The Indian films in the competitive category are Ridham Janve’s Pahari-language The Gold-Laden Sheep And The Sacred Mountain, Aadish Keluskar’s Jaoon Kahan Bata Ae Dil and Vinit Chandrasekharan’s Bodhi.he 14 titles include Devashish Makhija’s Bhonsle, Vinu Kolichal’s Bilathikuzhal, Sangeeta Datta’s documentary Bird Of Dusk, Anupam Kaushik Borah’s Bornodi Bhotiai, and All India Bakchod’s first feature film, Chintu Ka Birthday by Satyanshu Singh and Devanshu Singh. Omsuraj Production & Amritsar Talkies gives Bollywood & Hollywood, world’s first ever film based on Kite Flying Competition.

The film will be shot in Amritsar on a 35 days start to finish schedule. The final cast of the film will be announced shortly.

The makers of the film ‘GABRU GANG’, have applied to the Guinness book of word records under the category for ” First film in the world on a Kite competition.

“The film attempts to demonstrate Kite flying as the main background with friendship, romance and emotion embroiled together in a finely knitted screenplay” as per Arti Puri.

“Kite flying has a very ancient cultural association with our country that this film shall portray in a cinematic and challenging manner” says Ashok Goenka, a prominent businessman in Gujrat. Read more

GJC extends its support to Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) for upcoming WorldSkills Competition to be held at Kazan, Russia in 2019

The All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC)), formerly known as All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), extends its support to Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) for preparing candidates to represent India in the upcoming WorldSkills Competition to be held at Kazan, Russia in 2019.

The preparation for the competition started with a registration process, where about more than 150 candidates across India registered themselves for the WorldSkills Competition. The registered participants went through a screening process, where 16 candidates were shortlisted for the two regional level competitions which were held in May and June, 2018 and 6 winners were identified, who would compete at the national level IndiaSkills Competition later this year.
