Chef Sanjeev Kapoor Hosted Cooking Demonstration and Launched Behavior Change Campaign Around Clean Cooking in India

The Clean Cooking Alliance along with Tata Trusts and other partners launched its pilot project of Alliance’s behavior change campaign at the Taj Land’s End Hotel, Mumbai on January 31st, 2019 from 03:30- 05:00 pm. The event commenced with a cooking demonstration using clean cooking solutions by Celebrity Chef Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor. The event not only featured a Q&A betweenChef Sanjeev Kapoor and Alliance CEO Dymphna van der Lans, it also marked the launch of the Alliance’s behavior change campaigns in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. Over the next six months, these campaigns will promote the use of cleaner, more modern stoves and fuels that can improve health, protect the climate and environment, empower women, and help families save time and money.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., ranked among the top 25 companies in Fortune’s latest global ‘Change The World’ list of companies. M&M (rank 23), which was one of only two Indian companies on the listing, was recognized for its significant 44% reduction in carbon emissions over the past 7 years.

The company has been striving to reduce carbon emissions through a series of initiatives, including it being the first global company to sign EP100, a commitment to double energy productivity by 2030. The 2-part series premiers August 24 at 21:00 hrs on Discovery Channel and Discovery World HD. Till 2015, the flight cadets of the Air Force Academy were given a choice between three flying streams – Helicopters, Transport and Fighters.  Fighter flying being the only stream reserved for men. Then, the Indian Air Force made a landmark decision to open the fighter flying program for its female cadets on an experimental basis for a period of five years.  Creating history, the first batch of three women fighter pilots — Avani Chaturvedi, Bhawana Kanth and Mohana Singh were inducted in Indian Air Force fighter squadron.  A significant milestone for the Indian Air Force, as this marked the first time it permitted women in combat roles. Stepping up ambition on the climate related actions being taken by India, Mahindra group organized a meet to highlight efforts being taken in India inviting stakeholders across the sustainability fora.
