Singapore South Asian International Film Festival 2018 (SGSAIFF) announces the full line up

The 2nd edition of Singapore South Asian International Film Festival 2018 (SGSAIFF) today announced its lineup which includes an interesting mix of feature films, short films and documentaries curated from across the world. This year the festival will include five World Premieres, two Special Screenings, eight Feature Films and nine short films In Competition.

The 2nd edition of the festival will be held from 5th to 14th October 2018 and will commence with an opening ceremony on 5th October which will be held at Carnival Cinema in Singapore. While the closing ceremony will be held on 13th October at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore and will also include the awards ceremony.

The opening ceremony will be attended by actors Paramabrata Chatterjee and Raima Sen – lead actors of the film Reunion which will be having its World Premiere at SGSAIFF 2018. The actors will also be attending the World Premiere of the film. Read more

Manoj Bajpayee’s next feature, Bhonsle to have its World Premiere at the prestigious 23rd Busan International Film Festival to be held from 4-13 October 2018.

The film directed by Devashish Makhija is nominated for the “Kim Jiseok Award” in the A Window on Asian Cinema section. The award will be given out together with a cash prize of 10,000 US dollars to the final two films, selected by the jury members at the Closing Ceremony, which will be held on the 13th of October 2018. NEC sponsors the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia

NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced the signing of a sponsorship agreement between its subsidiary PT. NEC Indonesia (NEC Indonesia) and the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC), an organizing committee of the 18th Asian Games.

 

Under the agreement, NEC Indonesia becomes a supporting sponsor and the ICT security system partner for the games, which will be held in and around Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia between August 18 and September 2, 2018.

 

The Asian Games are one of the world’s largest multi-sport events, held every four years since 1954. More than 16,000 Athletes from 45 Asian countries will participate in this year’s event.

 

As the ICT security system partner, NEC will contribute to INASGOC’s effort to realize a smart, safe and efficient environment, both for athletes and guests, through the provision of innovative venue ICT solutions, including network infrastructure and surveillance systems.

Therefore, security in using information, communication and technology must be maintained. FOX Sports Asia has entered into a brand new one-year exclusive multimedia and broadcastrights agreement for the second season of Super Fight League, the world’s first mixed martial arts tournament, promoted by British businessman and sports enthusiast Bill Dosanjh and British professional boxer Amir Khan on their television and digital platforms in Asia.

 

Promising reach in more than 500 million homes by broadcasting action pack content, the licensed territories include Brunei, Cambodia, China, East Timor, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam . Earlier this year, SFL came to one-year agreement on a broadcasting deal with MTV, Viacom 18 in India to broadcast all matches for season 2 (till 2019)
