The IVS School of Design and Innovation organised a fashion show with ACID VICTIMS to support social cause on its 10th anniversary. On this occasion Acid Victims survivor walked the ramp, the most prominent names are Anshu, Neetu , Shabnam and Sonia. IVS School of Design also announced today its decision to start India’s biggest design and innovation platform, the Centre for Design and Innovation (CDI). The announcement was made at an event held by the organisation in Delhi today in the presence of the Hungarian Ambassador, Mr Gyulu Petho and other luminaries from the design, architecture and related fields. The IVS School of Design is tying up with a major realty company to set up CDI as a vertical campus city in Delhi NCR (in Gurugram and Manesar). This mega infrastructure aimed at start-ups and existing businesses will be built over an area of more than 7 lakh square feet.The Centre will be geared towards designing products and services for the future. The vertical cities project is likely to give employment to more than 5000 people in areas such as design and technology. Read more

Women acid attack survivors walk the ramp for Women’s Day celebration

Women acid attack survivors stole the show at Viviana Mall’s third edition of ‘ExtraordiNAARI’ event. The mall invited women acid attack survivors to create awareness and campaign of stopping acid sale and acid attacks. Laxmi Agarwal, the Indian campaigner with Stop Acid Attacks and a TV host, who is also a survivor of acid attack was the guest of honor for the event at the mall.

Acid attack survivors from NGO Acid Survivors & Women Welfare Foundation (ASWWF) not only walked the ramp with confidence and style but their fighting spirit struck emotional chords of everyone at the event. Stories of acid attack by alcoholic husband, one sided lovers and in-laws, touched hearts of one and all. But, the interesting fact was that they have fought back against all odds and are doing courses, finding jobs and aspires to make their career shine. The show was organized to empower acid attack survivors who are often ignored by the society.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Rima Pradhan, Sr. Vice President, Marketing at Viviana Mall says, “Every year we, at ExtraordiNAARI try and create awareness towards a specific aspect that touches lives of women to create pathways that can lead to success. This year we were spell bounded with the kind of courage and fighting spirit that these acid attack survivors from different parts of our nation have shown. We in our way were happy to host them at Viviana Mall and give them some moments to cherish. We are also trying to create some career opportunities for these acid attack survivors to keep their hopes alive. With more than 350 registered acid attack survivors in India, it’s high time we take steps to support them and take measures to stop such attacks.”

Viviana Mall has created a special email id for providing jobs to acid attack survivors. Any acid attack survivor can send their resume on careers@vivianamalls.com and mall at their end will share it with their brand partners to assist these survivors to get desired jobs. Read more

This Women’s Week, Viviana Mall Salutes Women Acid Attack Survivors

Ringing the third edition of its well known initiative called ‘ExtraordiNAARI’, Viviana Mall has invited Women Acid Survivors to create awareness regarding life after acid attacks. How is life after acid attacks? How friends and relatives behave with acid attack victims? Do acid attack victims get jobs? How do they manage? And many such questions will be answered when acid attack survivors from different parts of our country will gather to share their experiences in Viviana Mall’s ExtraordiNAARI initiative on March 07, 2018, a day before International Women’s Day.

Acid attack survivors will also set the ramp on fire in a special fashion show organized by Viviana Mall and its retail partners. Laxmi Agarwal, the Indian campaigner with Stop Acid Attacks and a TV host will be the guest of honor for the ExtraordiNAARI event.

Speaking ahead of the event, Ms. Rima Pradhan, Sr. Vice President, Marketing at Viviana Mall says, “It’s a dreadful thought to even imagine an acid attack, let alone living with it but these acid attack survivors has shown the world that no one can tarnish their confidence and fighting spirit. This women’s week, we have invited women acid attack survivors from different parts of our country to share their experiences. We aim to spread awareness regarding this inhuman crime and explain the hardships these acid attack survivors are going through in their lives in order to stop such attacks.”

Every year on International Women’s Day, Viviana Mall felicitates different achievers from various fields and this year the mall is going miles ahead to share some happy moments with women acid survivors from our nation and support their campaign to stop acid attacks and stop sale of acid.
