Lucknow-born and Mumbai-based model and Tamil actor Shiva Prakash has been signed on by director V Ganesha Reddy for his upcoming film “Welcome to Chenani”, according to a press release issued by V Ganesha Reddy films today.
Shiva Prakash who recently moved to Mumbai was seen chilling near the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in suburban Mumbai last week.
Speaking to media persons in Mumbai on Friday, director V Ganesha Reddy, said, the film Welcome to Chennai is a comedy film and is the story of a 22-year-old college youth born in North India who shifts to Chennai for work after completing his post-graduation. In Chennai he falls in love with a co-worker, but is confronted by a gang of ruffians, who give him a hard time. “As Shiva Prakash has been brought up in North India, we found him suitable for the film. The film is expected to go on floor in mid-September,” Reddy said.
Co-incidently, Shiva Prakash who is a fitness freak, action hero and body-building fan and another Lucknow model Mahek Singh were also selected as finalists for the ongoing North Indian King & Queen. Another well-known model Arshi Khan was also selected as a finalist for the North Indian Queen and Mahek Singh was selected for the North Indian Princess category.

Shiva Prakash is an aspiring actor who has recently moved to Mumbai and Mahek Singh – an upcoming model and actress from Lucknow were selected as finalists after competing with over 200 other participants during local level auditions in UP and MP. They will now compete with other finalists from Delhi, Chandigarh and Jaipur. The trio also bagged the maximum number of votes in the online voting category which includes votes, shares, LIKES and comments posted by friends and fans on Facebook and other social networking sites.
