consumer rights watchdog CGSI is organizing a Stakeholders Consultation on Food Fortification ‘A Drive against Malnutrition’ at the Seminar Hall in Nirmala Niketan,Thackersey Marg, Churchgate. The drive is being organized by CGSI in collaboration with CII- FACE and GAIN.The secrets to balancing nutrients to eliminate Malnutrition will be shared by food technologist Dr Ratnaraje Thar. A ray of hope for Malnutrition plagued Rural India, Professor Narendra shah, Centre for Technology Alternatives Rural Areas, talks about the role of Fortification technology in solving undernourishment woes.
On CGSI’S initiative to carry out this drive, Dr Sitaram Dixit, CGSI Chairman says “As an organization catering to solving consumer griefs, we strive to continue to alleviate those who need a helping hand. Bringing together the experts in related fields we are positive we can merge technology and goodwill and put a cap on the alarming rise of undernourishment in India.”
Food fortification is the process of adding vital minerals and vitamins to staple foods. It is an effective way to maintain public health and battle Malnutrition. The Policy makers, industry experts and consumer groups will brainstorm methods to draft effective policies to cure the growing epidemic of malnutrition in India. Officials from various Industry bodies and related associations are urged to attend this path breaking event.
