Ms. Poonam Mahajan, Member of Parliament will be the Guest of Honour at Swachh Bharat Conclave’ 15 to be held on February 4, 2015 at Children’s Academy School, Thakur Complex, Behind Sai Dham, Kandivali East, Mumbai organized by BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI), a non-profit and non-government organization of promoting commerce and industry in world’s most prominent and emerging economies namely, Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa. The conclave will witness students participating from fifteen schools across Mumbai. This initiative is a part of the continuous support of BRICS CCI to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s food for thought of keeping India clean. Mr. Anand Raj Anand, well known music director, composer, lyricist and playback singer will also grace the occasion. To support BRICS CCI will be seen representatives from Creya learning who have undertaken the objective of providing the guidance on the aforesaid program and helped the kids create models based on the core theme of ‘Reduce, Recycle and Reuse’ which will be presented before the panel of judges. The event will also witness presentations on Waste Management by Debartha Banerje of Sampurn(e)arth and on Internet enabled urban farming by Greenopia and Principal India.
Commenting on the objective of the conclave planned, Dr. B.B.L. Madhukar, Secretary General BRICS CCI said “BRICS Chamber of Commerce has joined hands with millions of Indians in Swachh Bharat Campaign. Our main motive is ‘awareness’ among children so that it can be passed on to others so that there will be a cycle of information which is important for this cleanliness programme. We strictly believe that we can’t buy a clean environment, we have to make one and to achieve this, we need stricter policies and individuals must learn to do their deeds. And through this conclave, we aim to educate the students and their parents the mantra of ‘Reduce, Recycle and Reuse’.”
