India Golf Expo (IGE), South Asia’s largest golf industry trade show will conduct the seventh edition of this event, on April 19 and 20, in Bangalore. Organized by the Golf Industry Association (GIA), India Golf Expo brings together the golfing fraternity of India and experts from around the world with the intent to share knowledge, experiences and to chart a course for the future of golf in the country. This year’s event will see the participation of a complete delegation from The R&A, the global regulatory authority and decision makers for the sport of golf, who will focus on the theme of sustainability of the sport from a global and Indian standpoint, while addressing other aspects around building the golf ecosystem in India.
India Golf Expo is the largest and most comprehensive gathering for the business of golf and the expo will also include information the development of India as a golf tourism destination, the commercials involved in building a golf course and the know-how to market the golf course business to generate more revenue, among other topics. In addition to the speakers there will be a large number of exhibitors present alongside numerous golf clubs who are participating at the exposition.
GIA with its members drawn from the golf industry, real estate, travel & tourism and urban development sectors is a non-profit industry association whose aim is to build and promote the Indian Golf Industry. The exposition will comprise of a symposium, IGU turf care seminar, over 10,000 sq ft. of exhibition area, exclusive deals on equipment and apparel & industry awards and will also provide ample networking opportunities over lavish buffet lunches, industry dinners and entertainment, making IGE an exciting mix of golf and business.

Dominic Wall, Director – Asia-Pacific, The R&A. Currently based in Singapore, Dominic Wall has over 29 years’ experience at national and international level sports management. which includes 16 years in a number of roles for the Australian Golf Union (AGU) and Golf Australia (GA) including National Director of Coaching, Manager Development and Acting Executive Director and 5 years as Development Manager for the Australian Coaching Council based at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).
Dr. Micah Woods is chief scientist at the Asian Turf Grass Center (www.asianturfgrass.com). He lives in Bangkok, Thailand, and travels frequently to study, advise, and teach about turf grass management in Asia and Asian culture.
Jonathan Smith, Founder & Executive Director, GEO Foundation. For nearly twenty years Jonathan has been involved with sustainability in golf, from field support to planning. He has been working for both golf and for the government.
Paul Jansen, Advocate for creating sustainable golf courses. Paul is an advocate for creating sustainable golf courses that provide highly strategic, stimulating and memorable golf experiences. Paul completed a work stint in Washington DC with Golf Architect Tom Clark – former ASGCA President. His time in the USA was followed by a permanent move to Europe in 2001. Based in London, United Kingdom and later Geneva, Switzerland Paul worked as a Golf Architect for Faldo Design – the golf design office for Sir Nick Faldo until 2011 where he worked on projects across the globe.
Mohan Subramanian, Rainbird Corporation & GCSMAI. Mohan has over 20 years’ experience in the Irrigation industry in various capacities. He comes with extensive field and marketing experience in water management. He is a Certified Irrigation Auditor and an expert in water conservation for the landscape industry. He has spoken about water conservation on more than 20 different occasions all over India and is currently actively campaigning for increased awareness about water conservation in India.
Guy Chapple, Director – WellPlayed Golf Business Consultancy. Guy is a Director of the Golf Business Group, which operates WellPlayed Golf Business Consultancy, Quick18 Australia, and the Australian Golf Business Forum. He has a comprehensive understanding of successful golf facility operations and development.
