Environmentalist and Grammy® Winner Ricky Kej performed ‘Music for the planet’ to a packed audience at UB City over the weekend. It was a Global Symphonic Experience for the first time in India with a star-studded lineup including 5 International Grammy® Award Musicians.
Ricky performed Music from his latest Album ‘Shanti Samsara – World Music for Environmental Consciousness’ and enthralled the music lovers of Bengaluru. It was a spectacular amalgamation of musical performances, dances and sand art. These concerts were uniquely designed and curated with ‘Music for the Planet’. It was not just about music but the mesmerizing music encouraged and enthused the audience to consciously work for a better and brighter tomorrow for all beings whether animate or inanimate.
The concerts over 2 days ran full house with the who’s who of Bengaluru attending and immersing themselves in this soulful music. The events saw over 2000 people including several Leaders, senior Bureaucrats, Businessmen, Thoughtleaders, Artists, Environmentalists, Forest officials, Conservationists etc. All of who were floored by the performances by Bengaluru Boy Ricky Kej and other eminent artists from around the world, including Grammy® award artists like Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Wouter Kellerman, Rocky Dawuni, Lonnie Park and many more.
Official representatives of the Forest department, and other conservationists and environmentalists were also given an opportunity to speak to the audience to bring focus to the existing bio diversity and put forth their thoughts about certain issues related to climate change and its impact. This was very interestingly woven with music created for the same causes.
“I am moved by the resounding success of the concerts at UB City. The response I got for these concerts over the weekend has been phenomenal. So many artists around the world support causes but sadly their art does not reflect it. I want my art, my music to be a reflection of what I am and what I truly believe in and hence all my music is about Environmental Consciousness. Through these concerts it’s encouraging to see more and more people understand the cause better. And it’s fulfilling to know that my music will be on the right side of the history” says Ricky Kej, Grammy® Award winning music composer and conservationist.
These magical musical evenings with Maestro Ricky Kej also had other renowned musicians from India and abroad including:
- Grammy® Winner Wouter Kellerman (South Africa)
- Grammy® Winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt (India)
- Grammy® Nominee Lonnie Park (USA)
- Grammy® Nominee Rocky Dawuni (Ghana)
