Flair Writing Industries Limited files DRHP with SEBI

Flair Writing Industries Limited (Flair), a leading manufacturer of writing instruments in India with a focus on pens, which according to CRISIL contributes 70-75% of the domestic writing instruments industry in India in value terms, filed its DRHP with SEBI on September 24, 2018.


The Company’s flagship brand “Flair” was introduced in 1976. As of June 30, 2018, Flair had one of the largest distributor/dealer networks in the pen segment in India comprising more than 7,250 distributors and approximately 250,000 wholesalers and retailers, according to CRISIL.

Flair’s products are sold under principal brands “Flair”, “Hauser” and “Pierre Cardin”, as well as other brands “Rudi Kellner” and “Landmark”. They have been a manufacturer since March 2017 and the exclusive distributor since January 2017 of certain “Reynolds” branded pens in India. Flair owns the exclusive rights to the “Pierre Cardin” trademark in India for class 16 products, including pens and also are distributor of “ZIG” pens in India. Read more

MAMI announces films selected for competition in the India Gold category

The films selected for competition in the India Gold category at the upcoming Mumbai Film Festival were announced by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images on sep 24.

The complete line-up of the film festival is yet to be announced. The 20th edition of eight-day long film festival is set to run from 25 October to 1 November 2018

The Indian films in the competitive category are Ridham Janve’s Pahari-language The Gold-Laden Sheep And The Sacred Mountain, Aadish Keluskar’s Jaoon Kahan Bata Ae Dil and Vinit Chandrasekharan’s Bodhi.he 14 titles include Devashish Makhija’s Bhonsle, Vinu Kolichal’s Bilathikuzhal, Sangeeta Datta’s documentary Bird Of Dusk, Anupam Kaushik Borah’s Bornodi Bhotiai, and All India Bakchod’s first feature film, Chintu Ka Birthday by Satyanshu Singh and Devanshu Singh. Made in India Supraflex stent clinically at par with Abbott’s Xience, finds TALENT Study

Supraflex, a cardiac drug eluting stent designed and manufactured in India has been confirmed to be at par with Abbott’s Xience through an investigators-driven study called ‘TALENT’. Dr Patrick Serruys a globally renowned cardiology researcher was the chair for the TALENT trial. The findings of the TALENT trial were presented at the ‘late breaking trial session’ at Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics 2018 (TCT), the largest global conference of cardiologist currently underway in San Diego, USA. This study was conducted in 7 countries - United Kingdom, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Italy, Hungary and Bulgaria - across 23 renowned centres with a sample size of 1435 patients. Xience is regarded as global standard in safety and efficacy for drug eluting stents.

Over 5,00,000 stents are used in India every year. A cardiac stent is a device used to unblock clogged arteries. Drug eluting stents are coated with medicines that help lower recurrence chances of an artery narrowing after corrective surgery. Read more

Aavas Financiers Limited (the “Company”) got orders of Rs. 520 crore from high profile anchor investors ahead of its IPO, which opens on Tuesday (25 September). The Company has finalized 34 anchor investors at the upper end of the Price Band (Rs. 821 per equity share). The Company allotted a total of 6,336,439 equity shares at Rs. 821 per equity share aggregating to Rs. 520.22 crore.
