Evening Shadows film wins ‘Celebration of Courage’ Award

The Indian feature film Evening Shadows, directed by activist & filmmaker Sridhar Rangayan is creating a big buzz in the film festival circuit across the world. After five sold out shows at festivals in Sydney, Bengaluru, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Mumbai and Toronto, the film will soon be screened at film festivals in Kansas City, Shanghai, Utrecht (Netherlands), Colombo, Los Angeles, Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), Lima (Peru) and Pristina (Kosovo) in the coming months.

The film is being awarded the ‘Celebration of Courage Award for Narrative Feature’ at the Out Here Now: Kansas LGBT Film festival on June 14th at Tivoli Cinema, Kansas City. The screening is being co-presented by CRES – an Interfaith Network. Read more

Young Chef India Schools 2018: Top 8 Finalists

Eight students have made to the finals of India’s largest culinary competition for schools – the 8th Edition of Young Chef India Schools 2018. The finalists competed against more than 30,000 students from 2500 schools across India.

The Final Round will be held on 9th June 2018, Saturday in Delhi and judged by Chef Sanjay Kak who has over two decades of professional experience in many facets of hospitality industry and Celebrity Chef Shaun Kenworthy .

The winner of the 8th edition YCI Schools 2018, conceptualized and executed by IIHM, will be awarded the title, a cash prize of Rs. 5,00,000 and a scholarship to study at the International Institute of Hotel Management.

Young Chef India Schools was created as a platform giving opportunity for higher secondary students, where budding chefs get a glimpse of the workings of the culinary industry and gain global recognition. The previous editions saw an increasingly positive response from the schools across India and gained a global recognition by the hospitality community, making the event a benchmark for the industry.

The contestants, who represented schools from across India will be judged on metrics such as culinary skills and techniques, adherence to good health and safety and hygiene practice, minimal waste and best use of ingredients, professional appearance, attitude, dish presentation, taste and flavour.
